West End Live

West End Live, London's annual free theatrical festival, will be taking place in Leicester Square on the weekend of June 23/24 and is set to feature performers from some of Theatreland's top productions.

Performers from the up-coming West End revival of Fame will appear as will cast members from the puppet filled comedy masterpiece Avenue Q, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Stomp and Mamma Mia!. Theatre goers anxious to catch a glimpse of the costumes for Lord of The Rings before it opens should head down to the festival as performers from the highly anticipated Middle Earth musical are also set to appear.

Organised by Westminster City Council, West End Live will also feature other musical and dance acts along with live broadcasts, interactive exhibitions and performances by students from the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Robert Davis, Westminster Cabinet member for special events, believes that "from the very best that Theatreland has to offer, to the latest children's shows, there really is something for everyone."

The 2 day festival will run from noon until 6pm on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June. West End Live is a superb opportunity to get a taster of what's going on and what's coming up in London's West End and is the perfect start to summer in the capital. Be sure to head to Leicester Square and get in on the fun. To see the performers in their hit shows, book your theatre break with Holiday Extras.
