Cardiff to Nantes route launched

Regional airline Aer Arann has revealed that it will offer flights between Cardiff and Nantes.

The new route will be the airline's fourth from Cardiff, as it already flies to Dublin, Cork and Galway from the Welsh capital.

Flights will run on Saturdays and will take less than three hours. Currently one-way tickets are available for as little as £49, including all taxes and charges.

"Nantes is the sixth largest city in France and the capital of the Pays de Loire region in west France, a remarkable place to visit," explained Colin Lewis, head of sales at Aer Arann.

"It is also Cardiff's twin city and as the host to two of the Rugby World Cup matches being played by Wales in September 2007 we are excited to be bringing the action one step closer."

Jon Horne, Cardiff International Airport's managing director, added: "Nantes is a particularly appropriate destination, especially this year.

"This shows how Aer Arann continues to innovate for the south Wales marketplace, with intelligently selected routes offered at low fares."
