Singapore Airlines Seats To Be Auctioned

On Monday (August 27th), holidaymakers will get the chance to bid to be one of the first passengers to fly on an Airbus A380.

Singapore Airlines will launch the first commercial flight using the new superjumbo on October 26th and many of the seats on the historic flight are set to be auctioned.

Seats on the 'First Flight' will be auctioned on eBay over the coming two weeks and economy-class seats start at just $3.80.

Seats in Business Class and First Class are also available, starting at $38 and $380 respectively.

The money raised from the auctions will be donated to charity. The good causes set to benefit from the auction include Singapore's Community Chest, Sydney Children's Hospital and Medecins Sans Frontieres.

Airbus A380s are double-decker airplanes with 50 per cent more floor space than the next largest airliner, the Boeing 747-400. In the standard three-class configuration, the superjumbos can seat 525 people.
