Eastern resumes Manchester-Stansted route

A connection between Manchester airport and Stansted will be once again served by Eastern Airways this autumn after a year of operations by Air Berlin.

Eastern served the route from 2003 until 2006, when it was taken over by the German carrier, but will return to the connection from October 29th.

The airline will offer three flights each weekday with one early-morning departure at 07:15 for commuters.

Leisure travellers heading from the north to Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and London's other surrounding counties are also expected to make use of the service.

Aidan Mooney, head of air service development at Manchester Airport, said: "We're delighted to welcome back Eastern Airways onto the Stansted route.

"Connecting the north-west to the rest of Britain and the world is why Manchester Airport is so important to the region's development and this route is an important element in our network."
