American carrier Delta Air Lines has opened a multidimensional lounge in the centre of midtown Manhattan to showcase its 'unique' in-flight experience.

The 3,500 square foot Sky 360° construction will be located at 101 West 57th Street until November 10th.

It will allow people to experience Delta's entertainment and screening area, visit the midnight sky bar or relax in seating pods, where they can sample the airline's new food-for-sale menu.

Tim Mapes, Delta's vice-president of marketing, said: "We are excited to provide customers with an opportunity to experience all of the unique, stylish and entertaining elements of Delta's award-winning in-flight service in the heart of New York City.

"Sky 360° is an experiential vehicle that enables Delta to highlight our robust array of in-flight offerings and provides a platform for visitors to try out our state-of-the-art amenities."

A range of public events and programmes, as well as a number of private functions, will be held at the lounge during its six-week timeframe.
