AA to create Chicago-Moscow link

American Airlines (AA) has announced that it will be expanding its network of international destinations from next year, with new flights from Chicago to Moscow.

The carrier, which prides itself on being the world's largest airline, will commence a non-stop service from O'Hare international airport to Russia's Domodedovo hub from June 2nd.

David Cush, senior vice-president of global sales for AA, described Moscow as "another crown jewel" in the operator's "sparkling" route network.

Russia joins countries such as China, India and Japan in AA's expanding range of global locations to be served in the future.

"The Russian economy is booming and many of our nation's top 100 corporations are doing business there, so the time is right to begin serving Moscow," Mr Cush said.

"Our Chicago hub is well positioned to draw passengers and shippers from throughout the nation's heartland to travel to Moscow, providing our customers with the route network they value."
