Finnair warms up for winter

Scandinavian airline Finnair has said that it is ready to commence its winter schedule on October 28th.

Finnair has announced that it is "all set" for the commencement of winter services from October 28th, with a number of new routes coming onto the carrier's network for the season.

For the first time during a winter period, Finnair will fly to Mumbai, Bucharest, Ljubljana and Lisbon, all of which were added to the airline's network in the spring.

Frequency of flights to Bangkok with Finnair will be doubled from December 3rd, with the addition of an extra daily service.

This date will also see the beginning of a new morning flight to Geneva, while additional links to Munich, Vienna and Warsaw will come into operation later in the winter.

Finnair traffic planning manager Mattias Wickholm said: "There are good connections between Geneva, Munich and Vienna and Finnair's Asian destinations in both directions.

"Geneva is a special favourite with business travellers. Capacity is also being added on account of the skiing season."

Finnair will operate its winter timetable from its Helsinki-Vantaa hub until March 30th 2008.
