Duck Tours

London Duck Tours is the sightseeing tour with a difference - a guided tour of both the City of Westminster by road and a trip along the River Thames, all without ever leaving the comfort of your seat!

Duck Tour Big Ben

The Tour:

The Duck Tours comprehensive 75 minute sightseeing tour departs from Chicheley Street, Waterloo behind the London Eye and takes in some of London's most well known sights. This unique tour takes you past Downing Street, Nelsons Column, Buckingham Palace and other famous landmarks before it uses it's Vauxhall slipway to begin the waterborne part of the journey. Nothing offers a thrill like driving straight into the Thames from the road!

After a gentle cruise up and down the River Thames for a great view of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the Duck then returns to dry land for the remainder of the tour which visits Lambeth Palace and the Florence Nightingale museum before concluding.

Duck Tour

The Ducks

Duck Tours takes its name from the vehicles it uses, the amphibious DUKWs. DUKWs were used during the Second World War to carry supplies from ships to land, saving time by being loaded at sea and being able to up on to land where the supplies were needed. These amphibious craft were first used on the D-Day landings when over 21,000 of them were built to take the troops ashore. Duck Tours operate an initial fleet of five of these vehicles each striking in their yellow livery. The Ducks, built in the USA in the mid 1940's, have been extensively refurbished to seat 30 people and fitted with the regulatory safety equipment along with a public address system so that the tours are accompanied by an expert commentary.
All of the mighty vehicles used by London Duck Tours meet with the stringent safety regulations set by the road and river authorities.
