London Zoo with Theatre Breaks

London Zoo is one of London's most visited and popular attractions, with an assortment of wild and wonderful animals. London Zoo is a hive of activity - stimulate your mind and indulge your senses as you explore the many species of animals that live within the zoo. Open all year round (only closing for Christmas day) London Zoo is not only a visitors attraction but an active conservation and scientific research centre. Whilst there you can explore the informative displays and see conservation in action as well as get involved in the daily activities from getting up close and personal with spiders, watching the penguins have their dinner to meeting the monkeys.

Mammals, birds, inverterbrates and reptiles all inhabit the Zoo. See all the real crowd pullers - penguins, lions, tigers, camels, jellyfish and Komodo Dragons each with excellent veiwing enclosures. Interactive feedings and demonstrations happen every day for a wonderful insight into the animals.

Everyday the Zoo operates a number of fun and educational displays allowing you the chance to become better acquainted with the animals. Leave time during your visit to the zoo to experience at least one of these fantastic events;

Meet the Monkeys
Daily 11 am - 4 pm
Meet the Monkeys is a revolutionary enclosure, housing Black Capped and Bolivian Squirrel monkeys. The 1500 squared metre enclosure has been built to house the monkeys in their natural environment, the man-made habitat recreates the Bolivian rainforest and allows you to get right in there with them and 'monkey around'.

Animals in Action
Daily 2 pm - 2.30 pm
Come face to face with a whole host of animals at the London Zoo amphitheatre, watch as they show off their natural skills and learn a little more about the various species. This unique display is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn about some of the training London Zoo undertake.

Penguin Feeding Time
Daily 2.30 pm - 3 pm
Watch the fishy goings on as the penguins have their dinner. Observe the black-footed and rockhopper penguins as they gorge on fresh fish and swim in the pool. Learn how the keepers care for the birds and exactly how penguins interact with each other.

Spiders
Daily 3 pm - 3.15 pm
Interact with bird eating spiders who have a leg span of 14cm - that's huge!! Get up close and personal with the impressive spiders and learn about their species and how the keepers manage to keep them contented.

London Zoo is a very interactive experience and a brilliant day out for people of all ages. Many fascinating species can be seen satisfyingly close and there are plenty of opportunities to learn more from the numerous events taking place throughout the day.

Finding London Zoo....

Camden Town tube station (Northern Line) is the closest Underground Tube Station to London Zoo;
  • Exit the station on the right-hand side and walk along Parkway
  • Continue walking up Parkway until you reach Prince Albert Road
  • Turn right into Prince Albert Road until you reach the traffic-light controlled pedestrian crossing
  • Cross left here and walk over the Regent's Canal footbridge
  • Turn right and London Zoo is then 200 metres up the road on the left-hand side
London Zoo is also reachable from both Regent's Park (Bakerloo Line) and Baker Street (Jubilee, Bakerloo and Metropolitan Lines) Tube Stations.
