David to Gest-star as judge on 'Grease is the Word'!
David Gest will sit on the panel for ITV's Grease is the Word talent show in 2007. Gest, who is famed for his marriage to Liza Minelli and hilarious appearance on 'I'm a Celebrity...', will sit alongside theatre producer David Ian, actress/singer Sinitta and American choreographer Brian Friedman.
The show is expected to be a massive hit in 2007, following on from the stateside success of the same show format 'You're the One that I Want'. 'Grease is the Word' will follow the search for a new Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson to star in the 2007 West End production of Grease.
Biography
David Gest was born in Los Angeles, California on May 11, 1983. Gest grew up in Southern California where he lists Michael Jackson and his brothers as childhood friends.
David Gest married stage and screen legend Liza Minelli in 2002, but the marriage collapsed after just a year and a half amidst rumours of alcoholism and abuse. Gest sued his ex wife for $10 million but the case was thrown out of court.
Gest endeared himself to the British public with his appearance on ITV's reality show 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'. His hilarious anecdotes and generally unusual behaviour enabled him to finish fourth in the show.
He has recently been linked with his own ITV chatshow and lined up to guest-judge on 'Grease is the Word' in 2007, so his television career seems to go from strength to strength.
