RENT- The Story
rent

The controversial musical was first based on Puccini's La Boheme, and features a group of talented young artists who struggle to fulfill their aspirations against the grim tide of reality. Many of the characters have personal battles to contend with throughout the tale as RENT underlines the widespread diseases AIDS and HIV, and it's affect on the human body and mind. RENT also positively highlights gay, lesbian and bisexual relationships in society, as well as promoting an ethnically diverse cast - the musical was considered revolutionary for bringing controversial topics to the stage and thrusting them into society. Journey with RENT on their rollercoaster ride of emotion and experience the highs and lows of such a tragic tale.

RENT has been re-orchestrated and reworked in order to amaze and dazzle a new generation of theatre goers, William Baker has left behind the 90's rock roots and brought this iconic musical into the 21st century - featuring a diverse score and modern stage technology.
