Stomp - The Sounds and Rhythms

STOMP first arrived in London's West end in 1991 and has been one of the biggest noises ever since. STOMP is an uplifting, exhilarating show - top class entertainment which encourages the audience to redefine music.

STOMP's Origins

Creators: Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas

STOMP's creators started out as two buskers in Brighton. Their innovative idea to use everyday objects as instruments has now become an international phenomenon.

STOMP's Instruments

Everyday junk becomes the source of infectious rhythm with foot tapping energy. An empty water bottle creates impressive notes and the thumping dynamism of brooms and bin lids is breath-taking. Other instruments include sinks, hands, feet, matches, ballpoint pens, poles and drum sticks

Stomp's Sound
Stomp

STOMP's musical sound is unlike any other, the idea behind it is finding music in noises which we usually try to block out. There is little or no melody in a strict sense so it doesn't matter whether you prefer jazz, rock, classical, dance or pop, STOMP is about rhythm which is the basis of all music. STOMP combines the raucous with the delicate creating complex soundscapes which are endlessly inventive. STOMP's music is uncannily orchestral and joyously infectious.
