I ran the London Marathon - go me!

What a day, the crowds, the music and my fellow runners - it was an amazing experience to be a part of. I worked hard for the event and I actually quite enjoyed all the training. I was very proud of myself when I completed my first 20 mile run. I am not a fastrunner but crept over the line in just under five hours. I have not run that far since!. I do enjoy keeping fit - having retired from rugby and football which I enjoyed when I was younger - I now enjoy early morning fitness classes, swimming, skiing, sea kayaking, cooking, relaxing and chasing after my boys on their scooters!


Family and travel are super important

Pictured is my wife Mandy, we have been together for 16 years and have shared many wonderful adventures. We both started out as overseas representatives for Tui, travelling and living in Spain, Cyprus, Tenerife, Ibiza and Italy for over six years. We have also backpacked for six months across Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam. We have itchy feet and love to travel at any given opportunity. When our two children, Matthew and Patrick were just three & one years old we bundled them in the car and slept in a tent, we traveled the entire length of France and Spain for 40 days and 40 nights - quite an adventure. We have lived in the UK, mostly in Manchester, Oxfordshire and now in sunny Kent, where we intend to settle down for a few years whilst our children are at school.


Working life. No fun, no point!

I have had the good fortune to work at some amazing companies including Tui, Thomas Cook, Thistle Hotels, On the Beach and Zuto - where I have held a variety of roles. All of my roles have one common theme, the responsibility of looking out for their customers. Holiday Extras is a great company and I have the honour of leading their Customer Team which consists of around 300 people working across the group in our contact centres, back office functions, web and customer experience teams. I love my job, the great team that I work with and our ambition. I am proud to say that I am part of a team with a big plan and on a mission - to make travel better.
