My journey so far
I have been with Holiday Extras since November 2016. I initially started my journey as a part-time consultant, and then became a full time employee from January 2017. The decision to accept the role on a full time basis was very easy as the team here is world class and made me feel so welcome. Having worked for various international airlines and in a number of airports across the world, the opportunity to be part of a team where I could be really close to the business and I could deliver excellence on every project really appealed.
I absolutely love working for HX as there is such a good positive vibe around the place and everyone is willing to help and support one another.
Life before Holiday Extras
Aviation + property is the perfect formula for me. I spent 6 years working as a senior executive at Etihad Airways, based in Abu Dhabi. I was responsible for all property related matters for Etihad on an international level. This was a huge challenge but one I absolutely loved and I was lucky enough to travel the world. Being an avid football fan, my dream came true when the owners of Abu Dhabi bought Manchester City football club. I was able to advise on some of their large property development projects across Manchester.
After the UAE, I moved to work in Europe for some of the fastest growing airlines, that became part of the Etihad Group, this again was a challenge I loved as I enjoy working with different people and being part of different cultures and exploring food!
Life outside Holiday Extras
I live in Wakefield, up in Yorkshire with my wife, Shabs. It's an amazing city with the best fish and chips in the UK.
I absolutely love football, I’m a very passionate Newcastle United fan and also have a soft spot for Manchester City. I enjoy playing football as well as watching it. I like to keep fit, so if I’m not playing football, I frequent the gym especially the spin class! Great way to release stress and feel energised! I also like to play golf, weather permitting.
I believe in a work hard/play hard culture.
I'm a huge foody and will travel anywhere for a decent fish and chips or kebab. If you ever need a recommendation, please ask!
Favourite places
I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot as part of my work, and to choose just one place is a difficult task. But if I had to choose one, it would be Bali, I have been there a number of times and enjoy it so much. Nothing more peaceful than to be sat on Jimbaran beach watching the sunset with a nice lobster on my plate. I’m very fortunate to have a wife who plans all our holidays and all I have to do is remember my sunglasses.
