Whether they're passing the time in the play areas or munching on the special kids' menu, your children will be the honoured guests at the Novotel Nottingham Derby East Midlands airport. All the rooms are big enough for a family of four - and you can even bring pets. Children stay free and eat breakfast free, with a paying adult, but it doesn't stop there - they even get a gift when they arrive. Yes, that's right, the hotel is actually paying your children to stay there!

For a modern, great-value stopover close to the terminal, this is the East Midlands airport hotel for you.

Our customers rated Novotel on average 9/10 (46 reviews). Read Novotel reviews.

The Novotel is the perfect functional, family-friendly overnight stay before your holiday, and it won't break the bank either. It may not be the closest hotel to the airport but you'll get more than just a bargain. There are facilities to keep the whole family fed and entertained, and when you're ready to fly, it's just a 15 minute drive to JetParks.

Your car will be left in good hands at JetParks 2. The car park has CCTV, entry and exit barriers, a fence and is regularly patrolled. It also holds the Park Mark, a national security award accredited by the police. While you're away, you can relax and know that you have a hotel and parking package that will really protect your pocket and your car.

Check-in is from 14:00 so you can turn up as early or as late as you like. Overnight parking is included in the price. If your kids are coming too, they'll even receive a gift.

There's free wifi throughout the hotel so you stay connected while you're here.

On those sunny summer days, the kids can explore the play area to their heart's content. It's a great excuse to start your holiday early.

Morning, noon and night, you'll find fantastic food for the whole family in the Elements restaurant. If it's lunch time, we'd recommend a starter like a caesar salad, soup of the day or club sandwich, all of which are delicious and well-priced. When it's time for dinner, there's a tempting selection of classically British and international dishes, from roasted chicken masala to red Thai curry, and fish and chips to rib-eye steak. There's something for everyone. The impressive menu is full of impressive deals, with starters from £4.95, mains from just £9 and desserts from £4.95. It's even half price for children eating from the adult menu. But if you'd rather let your kids be kids, there's a yummy childrens' menu of dinner-time favourites, with a healthy option and some pre-holiday treats too. For kids aged 3-6 it's just £4.95 for 3 courses and a drink, and just £7.95 for kids aged 7-12. Whatever you fancy, whenever you fancy it, you'll be well taken care of at the Elements restaurant. It's open for lunch every day from 12:00 to 14:00 and for dinner from 18:00 to 22:00.

If you're just looking for a casual bite to eat, grab some traditional pub grub from the Elements bar. There's a great range of drinks to be enjoyed as well, whether you're looking for an informal brew with your friends, or a relaxing nightcap before bed. There's even a pool table and games machine if you're feeling competitive. The Elements bar is open 09:00 to 00:00 daily.

Then when you're ready to hit the hay, you'll find a simple yet spacious bedroom waiting for you. All rooms sleep 2 adults and 2 children, so they're perfect for families, and have a TV, double glazing, an ensuite bathroom, a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, an iron with an ironing board and free wifi.

In the morning there's an enticing buffet breakfast served in the Elements restaurant, suitable for the whole family. It's served from 06:00 to 10:00 on weekdays and from 07:00 to 11:00 at weekends. Breakfast is free for 2 children under 16, as long as they're eating with the adults whose room they're sharing.

Check out before noon and then all you'll have to do is make your way to JetParks. It's in the grounds of the airport, just a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Once you've parked, hop on the transfer bus to the terminal which will take just 8 minutes, and you're ready to go on holiday.

[date from="2017-06-05" to="2017-06-12"]Hints, tips and extra bits:

Make sure you leave plenty of time to get to the airport as the 'Download' music festival at Donington Race Circuit will cause heavy traffic around the time you're travelling.[/date]
