A bar and a town's nightlife as an extra
If you fancy a drink before bed, the Holiday Inn Express at Gatwick has a well-stocked lounge bar in the lobby. It may be cosy, but it has plenty of draught beer, wines, spirits, soft drinks and tea and coffee on offer. The lounge area has an informal, pleasant atmosphere for you to relax with a drink and a book or paper while you kill some time, which will come in handy if you have a late flight as the bar is open from 11am to 11pm.
If you're feeling adventurous, just head out into town, where you'll find a selection of bars, clubs and pubs, from the traditional to the modern. In fact, you'll find more than six pubs within a mile of the hotel. This way, you can combine your holiday with a one-night city break and still have plenty of time to catch the flight in the morning - subject to hangovers of course.
