Huge, ancient maps create an impressive feature wall as you walk into the Discovery Bar of the Heathrow Sheraton hotel, and a shelf of 1950s and 1960s suitcases perches above the sleek counter creating a chic yet quirky evening haunt. The bar is a comfortable place with two TVs and a large projected screen, so guests can watch sport while enjoying all the usual alcoholic drinks or maybe something from the cocktail menu.

If you're looking for somewhere a little quieter, you can sit back with a tea or coffee on one of the comfy sofas in the softly-decorated Orange Lounge, and nibble on a few light bites too. The lounge is open from 5pm.

Sandwiches and cakes are available in the Link Café, which has a couple of high seats that are ideal if all you want is a quick bite, but the high ceilinged reception lounge is a plush and stylishly decorated area if you just want to take your time and watch the passers by.

All of these public areas provide free wifi, so you can log on and sign in, wherever you're relaxing.
