Mercure Leeds Parkway

A quiet pint

Like the Mercure's restaurant, the hotel bar is a pleasant, informal space. It's quiet in the daytime, but much livelier in the evening. Make yourself comfortable on one of the leather sofas and sample a glass from the extensive wine list - you'll find some rare vintages here, as many of them are sold directly to the hotel by the vineyards and aren't stocked in supermarkets. There are also all the usual beers, spirits and soft drinks.

You can order from the restaurant menu and eat in the bar, plus there's a bar menu between 11am and 4pm: prices range from £3.95 to £9.95 for sandwiches, ciabattas, baked potatoes, salads, soup and main meals including omelettes and scampi and chips. If we'd had more time at the Mercure we'd definitely have liked to try the Yorkshire sausage and red onion baguette, which duty manager Barry tucks into at every opportunity and couldn't recommend highly enough.
