Simple food to keep your kids happy
There's no formal restaurant at the Holiday Inn Express Liverpool airport, but the lounge in the lobby serves both a buffet breakfast and evening meals. The lounge isn't fancy, but it's an informal, pleasant place to sit comfortably and grab a bite to eat.
All your kids' favourites
- Breakfast: 4am to 10am
- Dinner: 6pm to 10pm
Options from the lounge's bar menu include simple favourites like pizza, burgers and fish and chips, especially good for kids. The food is basic, no frills stuff, but perfectly serviceable. At around £9 per dish, it isn't cheap, but for airport food, that's still fairly reasonable.
If you'd prefer something fancier, there's a Dobbie's garden centre next to the hotel, which, as standard, has a pleasant, upmarket bistro restaurant and plenty to keep you busy. With John Lennon being a small, out of the way airport, it's nice not to feel stranded.
Breakfast at the Express is, again, basic, but also free to all guests. There's a hot buffet with scrambled eggs, beans and sausages, which isn't something you'll find for free at many hotels. Otherwise, all the regular continental options are present and accounted for, from cereals, yoghurts, fruit, muffins, pastries, bread and a conveyor-belt toaster. To wash that down, there are coffee machines that provide hot water for tea and a few types of juice.
At weekends, the breakfast buffet gets busy. If you show up between 4am and 7am, you should be fine, but it gets crowded from there on, with the most popular time being from 9am.
The hotel doesn't offer a room service. You are welcome to take food from the bar up to your room.
Excellent service from start to finish. Directions were accurate so no problem arriving. Transport to and from the airport very good, drivers helpful. Automated key deposit and retrieval really saved on the usual queues. Hotel accommodation at the airport was good and only a 10 minute walk to Departures. Definitely use again and would recommend to friends and family.Mrs Taylor (Liverpool Holiday Inn Express with breakfast)
Very good pre-holiday parking and hotel close to Luton. We have used Airparks and Holiday Inn Express on many occasions and have always found them to be excellent, convenient and reasonably pricedMr Armstrong (Liverpool Holiday Inn Express with breakfast)
Everything you could want, hot food available even though leaving early and a comfortable walk away from airport.Mr Bloomfield (Liverpool Holiday Inn Express with breakfast)
We got lost finding the Airparks car park and had to pay an unnecessary £3 to get out of Luton airport but other than that the experience and hotel were fine.Mr Batterby (Liverpool Holiday Inn Express with breakfast)
Triple room was double bed and single bed. Not good for 3 individual travellers. Triple room means 3 beds??Mr Jessamine (Liverpool Holiday Inn Express with breakfast)
Meet and Greet service wasn’t premium, wasn’t made clear that car wouldn’t be waiting for me. I was required to call ahead. Not great. Was left standing in cold car park for 30 plus minutes,
