Make your way along the bright corridors, past the funky canvases hanging on the walls, to one of the 48 simply-furnished yet colourful rooms at the Altrincham Lodge at Manchester airport. Each room is cosy and comfortable and offers a modest setting to get your head down before your travels. The large windows let in plenty of daylight for those of you who are in your rooms early enough to take advantage of it!

All rooms have a small but perfectly formed en-suite bathroom with complimentary hand soap and shower gel, as well as the typical amenities you’d expect from any airport hotel. Flick between the numerous Freeview channels on the large flat-screen TV, or browse the free wifi under lamplight at the built-in desk. The double-glazed windows as well as ample storage go towards making this budget location as comfortable as the rooms are cosy. Did you know experts have found that we sleep better when the surrounding temperature gets gradually cooler? So before you doze off, set the alarm clock on the TV and then switch on your free-standing fan to a comforting cool.

Come morning, dowse under the en-suite shower, and blow dry your hair to perfection in front of the large wall-hanging mirror. Don’t miss out on the free tea and coffee for that caffeinated kick-start to your day and, if you need them, an iron and ironing board are available at reception.

Room types and disabled facilities

Of the 48 rooms at the Altrincham Lodge, 22 are twin rooms and 22 are doubles. There are also four family rooms. Unfortunately there are no accessible rooms for persons with disabilities, although if you would be comfortable to stay in a room on the ground floor, this can be arranged in advance. Guests who’d rather not make attempts at setting the television alarm clock are welcome to request a wake up call from reception. A late check-out can also be arranged, although this will incur a flat-rate charge of £10.
