New Flybe flights to Newquay

Flybe are to start daily flights from London Gatwick to Newquay in February 2009. The new service with run thrice daily during the week, once on Saturdays and twice on Sundays with fares starting at just £29.99.

Despite the economic downturn Flybe has enjoyed a healthy period of growth and is now the fastest growing airline operating from Gatwick. The company has added crucial routes to Aberdeen and Newcastle recently and hopes that its new flight to Newquay can help the region and the airport, which has endured a difficult few weeks.

Mike Rutter, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for Newquay Cornwall Airport but Flybe’s decision today is a vote of confidence not only in the county but in the airport’s team. Other airlines may walk away from Cornwall but Flybe is here for the long-term."
