BAA Glasgow has opened the first phase of the new terminal extension to passengers. The first phase of the £31 million project opened its doors on October 21st. the new terminal extension offers a wide choice of retail and dining facilities for travellers.

Phase one is the new ground floor UK arrivals hall with along with a JD Wetherspoon bar and restaurant which will be followed by a Starbucks and other retail units opening soon.

October 28 will see the opening of Phase two, a £12 million security search area. The new area will replace the existing three security search areas and all departing passengers from the hub will be routed through it. A new World Duty Free store and extra seating will also be part of the second phase and, once through security, passengers will be able to take advantage of large choice of new shops, restaurants and bars.

Managing Director of Glasgow airport, Amanda McMillan stated: "Today is a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Glasgow Airport. This BAA investment underlines our commitment to deliver a better airport experience for our passengers, with state of the art security and more space to relax."
