Norwich International Airport is launching new and exciting tours of it's airfield, giving members of the public a unique opportunity to discover what happens behind the scenes.
If you are a dedicated plane spotter or simply want to learn more about how an airfield really works, then be sure not to miss out. With sales launched in the run-up to the festive period, these fascinating tours could make special Christmas presents for all ages.
You will have the opportunity to see air traffic controllers in action and will be able to watch a demonstration of the airports own fire-fighters tackling a blaze on the new £1m Boeing 757 simulator.
The complete airfield tour includes presentations, as well as question-and-answer sessions with the air traffic manager, along with the operations and managing directors.
This is the perfect time to find out all you can about the interesting world of air travel. Only a handful of other airports provide tours, making this a trip not to be missed.
Elliott Summers, operations director and deputy managing director at the airport, said:
"Many of the crucial elements of our operation are out of the public's view....I'd imagine our passengers would be intrigued to see Air Traffic Control and our fire-fighting training simulator in action."
"This sort of opportunity has never been offered before...We realise there is a great deal of interest in the day-to-day activities at the airport so we'd like to offer people this rare chance."
Regular tours start in January and are available at a cost of £40 per person. The cost per accompanied child is £10, infants go free, and there are discounted family and group rates.
