By booking your airport hotel and parking together as a package, you can heavily subsidise your parking and sometimes pay nothing more for an overnight stay and a space than you would have done for the room alone. • Prices for a room-only booking at East Midlands start from £59, but you can actually save money by booking a hotel and parking package - starting from £56
• This is also true of Luton airport, where an overnight stay can put you back £89 but booking your space alongside your room and prices start from £79
• Before booking your room, it's always advisable to check the price of the hotel with parking included. Usually the difference is no more than a few pounds - for example, at the Holiday Inn Express Cardiff you can stay over for as little as £48, but you can add on 8 days parking from as little as £49.95 - just £1.95 extra.
• Making your reservation as early as possible is invariably the best way to save the most money - not to mention that once it's done, it's one less thing to worry about.
