AEGON Championships at Queen's

June 1, 2009

From June 8-14, 2009, the Queen's Club in London will play host to the AEGON Championships, featuring some of the leading names in world tennis.

The event at Queen's is viewed by many players as the perfect tournament in which to hone their grass-court skills before the Grand Slam of Wimbledon. As such, every year sees the championship host a number of the world's top tennis. In fact, since 1979, 25 of the last 27 Wimbledon victors have graced the tournament.

Last year's championship was no different, with current world number one Rafael Nadal defeating Novak Djokovic just two weeks before claiming his first Wimbledon title over Roger Federer.

But who can we expect in 2009? According to the AEGON Championships' website, Nadal is set to return to defend his title, as well as British number one Andy Murray and previous winners Andy Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt.
