Budget airline Flybe adds flights to Scotland

Flybe low cost flight

Low fares airline Flybe has announced new flights from Gatwick to Aberdeen airport, and from Birmingham airport to Dundee, and will feature on TV programme Project Catwalk tonight.

From 3 May there will be an extra return flight from Aberdeen to Gatwick on Saturdays and Sundays until late October. Fares start at £29.99 one way including taxes and charges.

Following its recent franchise agreement with Loganair, Flybe will offer flights from Birmingham airport to Dundee airport, and from Belfast airport to Dundee. Flights begin on 21 May with prices from £34.99 one way including taxes and charges.

“The new routes from Dundee are a taste of things to come. With Flybe and Loganair working in partnership, we will be able to offer passengers from across the UK increased services, great fares and new routes to Scottish destinations that support both business and leisure passengers,” comments Flybe chief commercial officer, Mike Rutter.

Flybe on Project Catwalk on Sky One

Flybe is featured on TV tonight on the Sky One programme Project Catwalk. The contestants on the fashion programme hosted by Kelly Osbourne were asked to create a new uniform for Flybe’s female cabin crew.

To understand the requirements for the uniforms the designers spent at day at Flybe’s base at Exeter airport performing cabin crew tasks such as mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and gliding down the emergency slide.

“It was important for us to show the designers and the watching public what a professional and hard-working cabin crew team we have at Flybe, says Rutter. “We are very proud that Flybe is leading the way in fashion for low cost airlines.”
