Christmas Shopping in New York
With the US Dollar - Sterling exchange rate at a record low, many Brits are expected to decide that it's an ideal time to wrap up warm, grab a Christmas gift list and get over to New York this December.
Manhattan shopping institution Macy's, has unveiled this year's Christmas windows in its flagship store in Herald Square. Macy’s Santaland® runs from 23 November to 24 December at the Herald Square store. This Christmas 350,000 visitors will be expected to visit this 13,000 square foot Christmas Village to shop and visit Santa Claus.
Susan Kronick, vice chair of Macy’s, Inc. said, "The Magic of Christmas will delight people across the country. With distinctive merchandise assortments and festive store events, Macy’s is pleased to play a part in continuing the traditions of the season for our customers and communities."
For an alternative New York Christmas experience, Harlem for the Holidays is a new programme promoting special offers and discounts at over 100 of the neighbourhood's stores, restaurants and cultural organizations.
The "Harlem for the Holidays" promotion takes place from December 1 to December 24. Visitors can explore uptown Manhattan - A chance to get off the beaten track and visit shops, restaurants and legendary jazz clubs.
