Price over destination

June 18, 2009

In a recent poll conducted by airline price comparison site Skyscanner, British travellers are choosing their holiday based on price, rather than by destination.

Results indicate that only 16% of those questioned had their heart set on a particular location, with 28% declaring that they would rather 'fly anywhere if the price is right'.

Skyscanner's co-founder and director, Barry Smith, said: "The recession has turned us into a nation of bargain hunters and adventurers. Rather than setting our hearts on a single destination and fixed dates, more of us are now happy to take our holidays when and where we can find the best value.

"Brits have become more flexible and open to new destinations - as long as the price is right."
