Zoom Air launches new service

A new service between London and Bermuda launched late last week, offering passengers the chance to fly to the island at low costs.

Zoom Air's new inaugural flight between London's Gatwick Airport and Bermuda took off on June 8th, with a one-way ticket starting at just £199 including all taxes and charges.

The airline plans to offer a twice-weekly service between the UK and the north Atlantic island.

Passengers will also be able to take advantage of Zoom Air's service between Gatwick and New York's JFK Airport and enjoy a two-centre holiday in the US and Bermuda before returning home.

John Boyle, co-owner of Zoom Airlines, said that the new service "marks another exciting milestone in the low-cost air travel revolution".

He added: "Our services to Bermuda offer people a high quality but affordable way of travelling. Competition is long overdue and Zoom's arrival will provide a welcome alternative for people who've had no choice but to pay BA's high fares.

"What makes this even more exciting is the opportunity of a twin stay in New York and Bermuda with Zoom scheduled direct flights from London Gatwick."

Recently, British Airways (BA) revealed that rising fuel costs meant that it was increasing the fuel surcharge it placed on long-haul flights.
