Data gathered by holidaylettings.co.uk found that 33 per cent of UK holidaymakers always pack tea and coffee when they jet off on holiday and 26 per cent never forget their corkscrew.
Food that reminds people of home is also seen as vital when packing for holidays - with many UK tourists revealing that they take items like Marmite, peanut butter, cheese and lemons away with them.
However, the results also show how important technology has become to Brits on holiday. More than eight out of ten (84 per cent) said that they always take their mobile away and 13 per cent cannot envisage life without their laptop.
"These results suggest that what would really make holidaymakers smile on arrival are English tea and coffee brands, culinary basics, staple British condiments and maybe even a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge," commented Ross Elder, the managing director of Holidaylettings.co.uk.
However, recent figures show that nearly one in six Brits have been a victim of crime while on holiday.
