A380 'to improve air travel'

Virgin Atlantic has claimed that the Airbus A380 will boost the aviation industry by enhancing the passenger experience.

The Airbus A380 will give airlines the opportunity to improve the experience available to their passengers, according to Virgin Atlantic.

Singapore Airlines recently received the first A380 and is set to begin its first scheduled passenger flights using the plane on October 28th.

As more carriers begin to use the A380, passengers will see a wider range of elements becoming a part of the air travel experience, according to Virgin Atlantic head of PR Anna Knowles.

"This aircraft type will give airlines the ability to use the additional space in an interesting way to enhance the passenger experience," she said.

"Virgin Atlantic always tries to ensure that it is able to offer unique features onboard any new aircraft type."

Ms Knowles dismissed the idea that the new Airbus would be exclusive to business class passengers, as the sheer size of the plane means that it can accommodate economy fliers as well as corporate customers.

The A380 can carry up to 525 passengers and, according to Airbus, is the most spacious and efficient airliner ever conceived.
