HolidayExtras.com launches hassle-free guide to travelling with babies

As HolidayExtras.com reveals that seven out of ten parents are desperate to find ways to entertain their young families when flying overseas, the UK market leader for travel add-ons has produced an online guide to travelling with babies.

In a recent survey*, 72% of parents polled said entertaining their young children was the worst thing about travelling with under 5's. Evil looks from other passengers was the second biggest hassle for 16% of parents, with 6% of mums and dads dreading nappy changes whilst on the move.

Fun packs (40%) and designated family areas on-board (32%) were the top two most popular innovations that parents would welcome.

Naturally, feeding worries, changing facilities and disturbing other passengers are all big stresses for young parents. HolidayExtras.com's new hassle-free guide covers preparations before travel, getting to the airport, at the airport and during the flight as well as advice on baby-friendly hotels and airport lounges.

Top tips are provided by parenting experts including thebabywebsite.com, mychild.co.uk, gurgle.com and real mums and dads. Questions can be answered by HolidayExtras.com travel expert Dr Laurence Gerlis (of samedaydoctor.com) and Andrea Clayton, insurance specialist for HolidayExtras.com.

HolidayExtras.com's Michael Johnson, editor of the guide, said: “We have worked hard to create a comprehensive guide that will help make parents' travel experiences as hassle-free as possible.

"There's essential information plus heaps of creative ideas for entertaining little ones and tips for maintaining normal routines.”

Amy Schofield, editor of mychild.co.uk, said: "This guide is an indispensable resource for taking the hassle out of travelling with babies, it's packed with advice and expert tips to make your trip go smoothly. I just wish it had been available when my boys were tiny!"
