Tenerife on a Budget

Thinking about booking a holiday in Tenerife is exciting – even planning the budget can be fun. When you're looking for a cash-friendly trip, a little bit of creativity goes a long way. We want to make your holiday the best you've ever had, so here's some advice about how to navigate Tenerife on a budget. Another way we're here to help is with our airport transfers. One of our drivers will pick you up from the airport and take you straight to one of many different locations across Spain.

Accommodation

Finding money-saving accommodation can be a little tricky, but there are some smart ways to get around paying for pricey hotels. If you're an adventurous type, camping is always an option. There are several spots across the island like Camping Nauta – a campsite that has space for everything from tents to caravans and motorhomes, as well as electricity, washing facilities and family-oriented activities. Hostels are another good idea. In Tenerife, you can choose from some with rooftop terraces or swimming pools and they're generally cheaper than hotels.

Eating out

Food in Tenerife is normally very affordable, and a little research can result in great deals. For traditional seafood that's delicious and cheap, El Cine does fresh fare like whole octopus or hake fillets at prices that won't break the bank. Other dishes to look out for are pollo al salmorejo (chicken in garlic and white wine sauce) which is a popular meal throughout the island, and the classic English breakfast which you can get in a huge number of bars and cafés.

Things to do

Luckily, sunbathing on golden sands and paddling in glimmering water is entirely free. If you want to, you can spend most of your time in Tenerife exploring its many varied beaches (we recommend Playa de la Arena for watersports and Playa El Ancón for solitude). It's not too expensive to get into Casa Lercaro – part of Tenerife's Museum of History and Anthropology. It's €5 for non-residents, but there are dedicated periods where it's free. You can also visit Teide National Park, an iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site with caves to explore, flora and fauna to see and native species to try to spot.

If you're tempted by any of the above, here's something else you might like. Our Tenerife airport transfers are an easy way to get to your destination. We have private cars or shared shuttles – a reliable way to reach where you need to be.
