Coronavirus Laos and Travel Insurance

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak, authorities in Laosh ave implemented enhanced screening methods at airports and borders. Authorities in Laos are continuing to exercise caution and have issued the following measure;

  • The "Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone" in Bokeo Province which shares a border with China has restrictions on entry until 10 March 2020. There will be health screenings on exit and you will be unable to re-enter until the deadline has passed. Stay up-to-date with local authority advice on travel through the region.

Protect Yourself from COVID-19

At the moment, there is no cure for coronavirus, but there are lots of ways that you can minimise your risk of catching it.

  • Wash your hands frequently throughout the day, using plenty of soap and water.
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser often, especially when you have been out in public.
  • Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue, then dispose of the tissue.
  • Try and avoid direct contact with people who have been, or are, unwell.
  • If you display any symptoms of COVID-19, such as coughing, sneezing or have difficulty breathing, seek medical advice.
  • Follow local advice from the Government and your healthcare provider and stay updated on developments from official sources.
