For some, a holiday means a chance to laze on the beach and take in as much sun as possible. For others, however, it's an opportunity to get some exercise and explore the craggier landscapes of new and exciting countries.

What is an adventure holiday?

An adventure holiday is a trip away that involves a range of activities that are slightly more adrenaline-fuelled than on a normal holiday. Your hiking might turn into rock climbing, some families like to find somewhere with a zip-wire or others may find a safe place to go abseiling. For those are a little more adventurous, some have gone cliff-jumping, which involves jumping off ledges into deep natural pools of water.

If you are partaking in an extreme sport, make sure you research the type of activity beforehand so you can add on the relevant sports activity pack. Just remember that you need to make sure the policy is taken out before you take part in the activity.

While you're away it's always good to keep yourself and your belongings covered with Seniors Travel Insurance, particularly if you find yourself navigating off the beaten track.
