How does Valet airport parking work?
There are a couple of variations on Valet airport parking but the concept is basically the same: it means that you can bypass the car park and drive straight to the airport terminal where you meet a driver from the company you booked with.
After you've shown your booking paperwork and your vehicle has been checked, you hand your car keys over and can proceed to check-in. The driver will take your car to the companies car park. This is always a nearby, secured car park and usually with a company who offer standard airport parking services that you will find elsewhere in our availability section.
When you return from holiday a driver returns your car to the airport and meets you to return your keys. Usually you are asked to call the car park to confirm your arrival once you have collected your luggage so that there are no delays. Phone numbers to call and places to meet the driver are provided before you departed on your holiday.
This type of airport parking is perhaps more commonly referred to as Meet and Greet airport parking. Please read the car park service description if you are unclear what it involves. This shouldn't be confused with a Valeting service which means your car gets washed while you are away.
Other variations of Valet parking
Some Valet airport parking is not a full Meet and Greet service as described above. Some car parks refer to a Valet parking service which simply means that you drop your car off at a convenient point in the car park and then the staff take your keys and park your car for you while you confirm your reservation at reception. You still need to catch the transfer bus to and from the airport. Please read the details provided about procedures at each car park to clarify.
Some services are offered which run a one-way Meet and Greet service. This is usually on your return, so your car is brought to the airport when you get back from holiday but on your out-going journey you will still need to drive to the car park and transfer to the airport as normal. This is commonly referred to as a 'Return Greet' service.
