Dining

You'll never leave the Premier Inn on an empty stomach. And with its two money-saving dinner options, there's no chance of your wallet leaving thinner either. Thyme bar and restaurant is the life and soul of the Newcastle Premier Inn. There's plenty of seating and when we stayed here, there was a lovely vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant offers a good mixture of dishes; you'll find all the pub classics as well as flavours from around the world.
We took advantage of the three-course meal deal, which costs £26.99 and includes the Premier Breakfast, when we stayed at the Premier Inn, starting with the sticky chicken goujons, followed by the chicken makhani curry and finishing with the gorgeous caramel apple crumble. But if none of that takes your fancy you can choose from chestnut, mushroom and goat's cheese wellington, breaded scampi and chips, fish and chips, beef lasagne, wholewheat pasta with rocket pesto, or sticky chicken goujons salad. If you don't dine from this deal, there's plenty more to choose from including steaks, burgers and pizzas. The desserts menu offers a lot of choice too: a sharing sundae, cheese platter, profiteroles, baked vanilla cheesecake, Belgian waffles, dairy ice cream, lemon meringue sundae and chocolate brownie.

Children's menu
The Premier Inn's children's menu will please both the little ones and parents. A main meal costs £4.99 - and a starter or a dessert costs just £1 extra. They've designed the menu with healthy eating in mind, so kids can munch on melon and crunchy veg sticks, and add veg to their main course. Of course, there's also the usuals like prawn cocktail, garlic bread, nachos and corn on the cob to start, followed by fish fingers, steak, burger, grilled chicken breast and pastas.

Premier Breakfast
The Premier Breakfast is extraordinarily good value, and is essentially an all-you-can-eat buffet. Croissants, crumpets, bread, muffins, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, tea, coffee and fruit juices are yours for the taking. A waiter or waitress will come round and take your order for the cooked breakfast; but the great thing is you can order as many sausages, rashers of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans as you like. Plus they'll make your eggs to order: poached, fried or scrambled. The continental option which doesn't include any of the hot items costs £5.25. While the full buffet costs just £10.99 per person.
