Tell me about Exeter Airport

Last year Exeter Airport saw almost 720,000 passengers pass through its terminal, travelling via scheduled and charter flights within the United Kingdom and to Europe.

Airlines flying from the airport include Flybe, Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook. Flybe's passenger numbers have experienced a near-500 per cent increase since 2002; expanding from just four routes to 22 in 2012, and operating more than 200 flights a week.

What makes Exeter Airport different?

Devon and Somerset Fire Rescue Service already has a base at the airport, although a new 3.5 million fire training facility is in the process of being built. The site will include mock-up houses and a plane to practise specialised firefighting techniques.

Has Exeter International Airport won any other awards?

Exeter Airport was nominated for Best UK Airport at the 2012 Globe Travel Awards and in 2010, Exeter International Airport was shortlisted for an excellence award in the British Air Transport Association (BATA) category for airports handling less than six million passengers.
