The Gatwick South terminal was the first terminal employed at the airport. Almost 50 airlines operate from the South terminal at Gatwick to about 200 domestic and international destinations.

Third floor: The third floor contains the arrivals area, check-in and the departures area.
Forth floor: The forth floor contains the departures lounge and The Village with shopping and dining facilities.

There is a wide range of retail stores throughout the terminal. There are 15 stores located before security control and another 27 stores after security control, catering for clothes shopping, sports, accessories, toiletries, magasines and entertainment and much more.

Cafés and restaurants
There are about 17 different cafés and restaurants at the South Terminal, from coffee shops such as Starbucks and Costa to fast food restaurants like McDonalds to eat-in restaurants such as Frankie and Benny's and Est Caffe.

Bureaux de change
There are bureaux de change desks at check-in, departures and arrivals. Over 50 currencies are accepted at each for changing up into the currency you need for your holiday.
Internet access
There is wireless internet access in the arrivals area, the departures area and in The Village. Wireless internet, email, printer and other office facilities are also available in the departure lounge beyond security control.
Toilets
Public toilets and baby-change rooms are located throughout the South terminal.
Information desk
The information desk is located in the main arrivals area.
Multi-faith chapel
The Village, before security control, has a chapel for travellers of all faiths. They welcome people for private prayer and worship.
Most car park providers at Gatwick airport service both terminals with just a couple of exceptions. This means you have a great choice of professional services to choose from.
Park and Ride options include Airparks, renowned for great value and friendly staff, Long Stay parking within the airport boundary and the ever-popular Summer Special.
Meet and Greet options for Gatwick South terminal include Maple Manor, Official Valet Parking and Airparks. Maple Manor also offers a Meet and Greet service with valeting service at a great price.
There is a wide choice of hotels located near to Gatwick airport, ranging from two to four stars.
Because the North and South terminals are connected by a free monorail service, it is easy to transfer from one to the other. Some hotels will only provide transfers to the South terminal but this shouldn't be seen as an inconvenience because of the easy access to the North terminal from there
