Some superb views of the runway can be caught over a coffee at either Costa Coffee or WHSmith cafe.
The airport is not short of shops either - theres a Boots, Dixons travel, National Shoeshine, WHSmith and World Duty Free. Youll also be able to get your holiday currency at one of three branches of American Express bureau de change. Edinburgh Zoo is set in 82 acres of parkland three miles from Edinburgh city centre and provides great fun for the entire family. Get close to over 1000 rare and endangered animals, learn about the species at the keeper talks, enjoy the interactive experience with some of the animals or even ride the free hilltop safari.
Edinburgh Castle is the citys proudest and most iconic landmark. You can discover its secrets, tales and origins on a guided tour and stop for lunch in one of the cafes. A wide range of Scottish souvenirs are available at the gift shop and there are many good reads to be uncovered in the castles bookshop.
For those who like to shop, head towards Edinburgh city centre. The St James Shopping Centre is in the heart of the city, and has a mix of shops to suit everyone, from John Lewis and Wallis to Republic and River Island. The Ocean Terminal on Edinburghs waterfront in Leith has over 70 stores under one roof ranging from high street names to unique boutiques. Theres free parking too. The Gyle Shopping Centre, Princes Street and the main High Street are also all worth a visit.
