British Airways cabin crew will be voting between 25 January and 22 February, 2010 on whether to take industrial action in protest against recent staff cuts.
If crew vote in favour of striking, industrial action could take place from the first week of March. There were concerns that the action could hit the massive Easter holiday season, but this has now been ruled out.
The airline's cabin crew, alongside the union Unite, are fighting imposed changes which have reduced crew numbers by between one and three on all flights and impacted on in-flight service delivery.
Unite represents more than 12,000 of the airline's 13,500 cabin crew. The first proposed strike for December 2009 was found to be unlawful by the Royal Court of Justice.
