Tell me about easyJet

Founded in 1995 by Sir Stelios Haji-Loannou, easyJet has grown to become one of Britain’s most iconic brands. The distintive fleet of over 200 orange and white aircraft fly to 29 countries across Europe from their Luton base. The carrier is credited with pioneering the online booking and check-in process that is now used by most airlines, whilst offering a no-frills, low-cost service.

Why does easyJet represent value for money?

easyJet’s status as one of the UK’s leading low-cost airlines comes as a result of their no-frills approach to service. Inflight extras such as food, beverages and entertainment can be purchased on top of a flat ticket price, giving the customer the option to spend as much or as little as they wish. However, this no-frills approach doesn’t apply to customer service. The airline's high standards of service, alongside a low-cost ticket price is what gives easyJet their reputation of value-for-money.

Has easyJet won any other awards?

In the past two years alone, easyJet has scooped numerous awards that recognise the brand's high-quality low-cost business model. In 2009, the carrier was awarded Best No Frills Airline at the British Travel Awards, Best Low Cost Airline, Best Economy Class and Best Airline for Value for Money. 2010 was equally as successful, gaining many of the same accolades they won a year previously.

On the evening of the Holiday Extras Customers' Awards, Tina Milton, head of cabin services, easyJet, said:"We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as the Best Value for Money airline, even more so as its voted for by the customers.
