easyJet launches new flights for 2008

New summer sun flights have been announced by easyJet, including flights to Faro, Nice and Sardinia.

The new easyJet flights include three routes from Bristol airport to Biarritz, Olbia in Sardinia, and Split. There will also be new flights from Edinburgh airport to Nice, Glasgow airport to Faro, and London Luton airport to Pisa.

Flights from Bristol to Biarritz will depart four times a week and one way fares start from £19.99; flights from Bristol to Sardinia depart three times a week with one way fares from £21.99; and there will be two flights a week from Bristol to Split in Croatia costing from £23.99 one way.

Daily flights from London Luton to Pisa will start on 30 March 2008 with fares from £23.99 one way. Flights from Edinburgh airport to Nice begin on 24 April and operate three times a week with one way fares from £25.99, while flights from Glasgow to Faro will also operate three times a week starting on 22 April with one way fares from £23.99.

This brings to 18 the total number of new flights announced by easyJet recently. Previously announced flights include Gatwick to Innsbruck, East Midlands to Barcelona and Palma, Birmingham to Geneva, and Newcastle to Murcia.

"easyJet will launch 18 new routes over the next few months from our bases across the UK and we will shortly announce further expansion, re-enforcing our position as the UK's largest airline," says easyJet UK general manager, David Osborne.

easyJet has also announced its passenger statistics for November. Passenger numbers totalled 2.89 million, an increase of 13.2% over November 2006.
