Stansted returns to normal after protest

Passengers still advised to contact airlines
Protesters at Stansted airport

A full refund is being offered to travellers whose flights from Stansted airport were cancelled as a result of yesterday's protest.

Customers whose flights into the airport were cancelled will also not be charged for overstaying their time in the car park as a result, as long as they show their booking confirmation as they leave.

Services at the airport are returning to normal after climate change protesters broke through the perimeter fence and occupied a secure area near the runway, forcing it to be closed for two hours yesterday morning. Ryanair had to cancel 56 incoming and outgoing flights.

Travellers are still being advised to contact their airline before their trip.
