The Best Apres Ski Resorts in France

The best places to go after hitting the slopes

Ski resort

After a long down on the slopes, what better way to kick back than with great food, plenty of drinks and a dance on the tables? France is well-known for its great skiing, but which resorts will you find the best aprés ski?

Val D’Isére

Val D’Isére doesn’t have a party reputation for nothing. It’s known as one of the liveliest spots in the Alps, and it definitely won’t disappoint those looking for more than a few good nights out. With dozens of bars and clubs, it’s a haven for university ski and snowboard clubs. La Folie Douce is an infamous spot for parties that has been dubbed ‘the highest club in Europe’ - you won’t want to miss it.

Chamonix

With an abundance of bars and restaurants, there’s so much more to Chamonix than just skiing. It’s a foodie’s dream with a number of popular French eateries. If you’re looking to dance into the night, Chambre Neuf is one of the liveliest bars in the area, with happy hour from 8pm and live bands playing all evening.

Meribel

Don’t let the resort’s picturesque appearance fool you - the aprés ski scene is lively and attracts a large number of Brits every year. With happy hour and live bands, Rond Point has long been established as a meeting point, and is a popular spot for those fresh off the slopes.

Val Thorens

Val Thorens is a resort that is very much geared towards a younger crowd. With a large number of late-night bars and clubs, the party starts as soon as you step off the slopes. La Folie Douce is every bit as popular as its sister bar in Val D’Isére, and The Alps’ largest club The Malaysia will have you partying til 4am.
