Mark Smith qualified as a chartered accountant in 1978 with Touche Ross and Co (now Deloitte). Following two years as European Finance Director at RCA Records, he joined the Good Relations Group plc in 1984 and became its Finance Director in 1985. The Good Relations Group was taken over by Lower Howard-Spink and Bell in 1986.
Mark was one of five principals in a management buy-out of the public relations business of Lowe Howard-Spink and Bell in 1989 under the name of Chime Communications. Chime Communications was floated on the Stock Exchange in 1994.
Life outside of work
Mark is very active and loves sport. He has a "great wife" and six children.
