A hotel straight from the heart
If the Sofitel Gatwick were any closer to the runway, it would have wings and an engine. It's connected to the North terminal by a covered walkway - but the rooms are so perfectly quiet and tranquil that you'd never know it. Triple glazing and excellent soundproofing keep things whisper quiet at this particular Gatwick airport hotel. But if you want to indulge your inner anorak with a bit of plane spotting you couldnt be better placed.
Four-star luxury in a five-star location
If you want to be as close to check-in as possible, then the Sofitel is the place where you need to stay. It's the only hotel connected to the North terminal: check-in is just a two-minute walk away along the covered walkway. The South terminal is just two more minutes away on the free monorail, which runs every three minutes.
I've used you numerous times now, it has always been the same simple no fuss parking. Excellent transfer to terminal. Exactly as it should be.Mr Davies, 02 Feb 2014

An air of excitement
A high, spacious atrium greets you as you arrive in the lobby a ten-storey open space that forms the heart of the Sofitel. Its a bustling little world, with large luggage trolleys constantly wheeling in and out, and four panoramic lifts shooting up and down. Theres an air of quiet excitement - a hum of activity, of international travellers going about their business, attended to by experienced, professional staff.
We recommend the London Gatwick Sofitel for:
Location. Whether you come into Gatwick at the North or South terminal, the Sofitel is only minutes away. Walk through the covered walkway from the hubbub of the terminal straight into a tranquil and spacious hotel.
Choice of great restaurants. Youll find good wines, and food that ranges from haute cuisine to hearty meals that the kids will appreciate in the Sofitel's three restaurants, La Brasserie, Le Cafe and the Gatwick Oriental. Le Cafe and La Brasserie serve excellent breakfasts, lunches and dinners; on the other side of the atrium the Gatwick Oriental serves a wide range of south-east Asian dishes. And there's even a fitness room with cardiovascular equipment and weights for you to burn off any excess calories.
Excellent rooms. All the 518 rooms at the Sofitel are luxurious; many of them are super-luxurious. You'll want for nothing when it comes to both comfort and style. There are interconnecting suites for familes, and rooms that can be used for one or two children as well as a couple. Its a child-friendly hotel, well used to catering for younger guests.
You can check in from 2pm. You must check out by noon.
Gatwick Sofitel Address
If you know your plans aren't going to change, this is the perfect deal for you - a cheaper price but it's non-flexible and non-refundable. You're choosing the ultimate in convenience. The Sofitel is attached to Gatwick airport's North Terminal, so you can walk away from the hotel check-out desk and arrive at your airline's check-in desk in just two minutes.
The Sofitel is something special. The atrium is the hub of the hotel - it's bright, spacious and lively. Everything is there: the reception, where you can check in from 14:00, three award-winning restaurants, two very different bars and relaxed seating areas.
You can stay connected with free wifi throughout the hotel so you'll never miss a beat.
Time to eat? With three fantastic restaurants you'll be spoilt for choice...
For the best deal, how about a culinary trip to the continent? Book our exclusive two-course dinner in the Urban Cafe; the food is delicious and the savings are tasty too - enjoy two courses for less than you'd normally pay for one.
The award-winning La Brasserie is open for dinner from 18:30 to 22:30 daily and you'll be treated to the finest blend of British and European cuisine. Using seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients exclusively, it has never been without an AA rosette. La Brasserie is certainly a treat; don't expect low prices, but do expect some very delicious food.
Alternatively, go east with the Gatwick Oriental. This contemporary, serene and unhurried eatery is open each evening from 18:00 till 22:30. It isn't just hotel guests that love it: people come from all over to taste the eastern delights.
Cocktails before bed? It'd be rude not to. The Kua balcony bar, open from 17:30 to 23:00 daily, promises to spoil you with an exotic array of cocktails to get you in the holiday mood, or you can just stick to your classics. Either way, it's worth a visit. Looking out over the impressively-lit atrium is as intoxicating as the cocktails themselves.
Keep it casual in the cosy lobby bar, La Terrasse, open from 07:00 to 01:00 daily. They serve classic bar snacks and all the beers, wines and spirits you could wish for.
When it's time to hit the hay you're sure of a great night's sleep. Your hotel room is spectacular: spacious and stylishly designed, with a Sofitel So Bedô that is so comfy some people buy them to have at home. You may even be treated to a runway view, but don't worry about the noise of planes overhead: the windows are triple-glazed and superbly soundproofed. All rooms have a TV with pay-per-view movies, free wifi, telephone, radio, hairdryer, trouser press and, of course, tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast is something to savour and you'll have the time since you're already in the airport. Have as much as you like of every breakfast item imaginable, and if you book your breakfast with us you'll pay a special discounted price. Breakfast is served daily from 05:30 till 10:30.
And when it's finally time to fly, simply stroll through the Sofitel's airport walkway and two minutes later you'll be right in the centre of the North terminal.
