Bars to make your heart beat faster

The Sofitel has two excellent bars. For a quiet drink with a spectacular view over the soaring atrium there’s La Terrasse, which offers snacks and refreshments all day. For something a little more exotic, the Kua Bar, up one flight of steps from the bustling lobby, is just the place for a spot of people-watching over a cocktail.

The Kua Bar

The Kua Bar serves a range of very moreish cocktails from 5.30pm to 11pm. A Nude Cosmopolitan, for instance, just cries out to be sampled, and tastes as delicious as it sounds – it comes with cranberry juice, cointreau, lime and tequila.

Just one warning – you could be on a slippery slope with the cocktails at the Kua. Don't linger too long if you're planning to be up early the next morning - it's very easy to enjoy one more of them than you intended!

La Terrasse

A tasteful little bar in the main atrium, La Terrasse is really two bars. The first is a Parisian-style cafe overlooking the lobby and the main public areas of the hotel - a great place to people-watch or enjoy a light bite.

The second part of La Terrasse is the Library, which is tucked away behind the bar itself and has a quieter, more secluded atmosphere - the ideal place to stretch out with a newspaper or a good book.
