Baggage handling improves at Heathrow T5Remember to pre-book the Heathrow Renaissance
British Airways has improved its baggage performance following the transfer of most BA flights to Heathrow Terminal 5.
The airline claims that during November only 12 bags per 1000 customers were delayed, compared to a disastrous 38 delayed bags per 1000 customers during the summer.
"Our punctuality and baggage performance continues to improve every month and our customers are really noticing the difference...," says BA operations director, Andy Lord.
November was the first month of full capacity operations at Terminal 5 for BA. The airline says that the majority of delayed bags belong to transfer passengers who have arrived at Heathrow with other airlines, too late to meet their onward flights.
Nearly 87% of BA's short haul flights departed on time in November, the best recorded global figure for seven years.
