We like anything that makes travel easy, and we've been hunting around for the top travel gadgets for 2014. Whether it's for comfort or convenience, we're all about the hassle-free travel. Anything that makes travelling that little bit easier is fine by us. We hunted for the best travel gadgets for 2014 - including the weird and wonderful - and this is what we found.
The SteriPEN Freedom uses UV light to sterilise water, meaning that you can drink water almost anywhere. It's a must for those that don't want to buy endless bottles of water on holiday - half a litre of water can be sterilised in under a minute. It's compact and easy to carry abroad - thumbs up from us!
The SolarMonkey Adventurer is a solar-powered charger that is perfect for tech junkies on the move. It works with most smartphones and will also charge your Ipad or tablet, so you don't have to worry about being disconnected - no matter how far you've wandered. There's an internal battery too, so your devices can keep their charge even when the sun sets.
The Re-Timer is the ultimate jet lag tool. Worn like a pair of (admittedly odd-looking) glasses, the Re-Timer emits a soft green light into your eyes. The thinking is that when worn at certain hours of the day, it works to reset your Circadian rhythm (body clock). It can even train you wake up earlier when worn for 30 minutes every day. Anything that makes getting out of bed easier is fine in our books.
Anker 2nd Gen Astro3
This swish external battery not only looks gorgeous, but it's also super-efficient. It charges any phone or USB-charged device at lightning speed. With multiple ports, you can charge more than one device at a time - an awesome feature for those short on time.
The Mu Classic is a USB charger that's super compact. The plug pins fold flat to slip into your luggage easily - that's more room for souvenirs!
XYFI mobile hotspot
The XYFI is the world's smallest personal hotspot with integrated 3G and wifi connectivity. It is powered by a USB connection, and allows up to 8 devices to connect to its 14Mbps internet access.
KAKKOii bluetooth speaker
Why leave your tunes behind when you go away? This portable bluetooth speaker is perfect for your hand luggage, as well as having great sound quality for a speaker of its size. Simply connect to your device and enjoy.
Say goodbye to the dreaded blow-away towel! The TowelWizz keeps your towel securely in place at the beach or by the pool. It can also slip over your suitcase as a luggage strap or around a rolled-up towel, magazines or books - a simple but handy little gadget to slip into your beach bag.
Rufus Roo Big Pocket Jacket
The Big Pocket Jacket is a novel way to make the most of your carry-on luggage. With 6 massive pockets, you'll be able to carry your laptop, drinks, magazines (and probably the kitchen sink!) onto the plane with you. It might not be the most stylish of airport attire, but you'll be having the last laugh when you're saving hundreds of pounds on baggage fees.
From the less-than-stylish to the super-sleek, JORD watches are stunning wooden watches that offer the perfect replacement for your more expensive and easily-damaged wrist wear. They're scratch-proof and splash-proof too - perfect for active people who don't want to sacrifice their style!
Scrubba wash bag
The Scrubba Wash Bag is a lifesaver. Forget washing your holiday clothes in the sink - this handy little bag does all of the work for you. There's an internal washboard, so throw in a couple of shirts, some water and some washing liquid and you'll have clean clothes within 30 seconds.

The J-Pillow is a strange thing to behold - but we can confirm that it's super comfy. The rules of the traditional travel pillow go out of the window, and trust us, it pays off. Its three 'arms' offer support for your head, neck and chin, making dropping off on planes as easy as pie.
Another great travel pillow is the HoodiePillow. If you're wanting to switch off from the world on your flight, simply whip out your pillow and pull the attached hood. Warmth and comfort combined.
Ostrich Pillow Light
Who could forget the infamous Ostrich Pillow? We're currently obsessed with its smaller, slightly less embarrassing younger sibling - the Ostrich Pillow Light. It's portable, light and super-comfy. We can't promise that you won't look like a species from another planet, but with comfort like this, who cares!
